Mehrdad Mosaferi is an artist-photographer, born in Bandar Abbas, in southern Iran in 1998. He started photography as a tool for artistic expression in 2017 and has focused on his personal projects in the past three years.

Mehrdad’s personal projects stem from his experiences living within the confining social structures and cultural limitations, often reflecting his struggle against them. He pursues his photography in the genres of staged photography and documentary, making constant efforts to manifest his unique, socially-influenced perspective in his works.

Mehrdad draws inspiration from emotions evoked by a particular subject matter. His inspirations originate from childhood memories in a working-class family, daily life across various social strata, and the uneasy sentiments aroused by sociopolitical events around him. These elements form the essence of his artistic creations.
